About Phidias

Award winner, innovator and highly skilled designer.

Having worked as an industrial designer for over 20 years Phidias has successfully delivered projects for clients of all sizes and on projects of all types. Projects have ranged from bespoke one offs, small batch production through to mass manufactured products. Phidias has worked on design strategy, interior design, furniture, steel storage, luggage, sports equipment and electronics .

What makes Phidias different as a designer is not his introversion (over a third of the planet are introverts) or the breadth of his knowledge and experiences, but his background. A skilled maker, a sculptor and a photographer are things you might expect, the real difference lies in my training both as an economist and educator.

Fascinated by human history and the evolution of our natural world Phidias is always ready to apply those broad education and experiences to the problem at hand. The ecological crisis which faces us makes the quest for a new material, process or the rediscovery of forgotten methods and materials more important than ever.
